From Busk Till Pawn, Act I, sc. ii

"Gonna be cold today."
If I had a penny for every time Beardo told me this, I'd be rich enough to buy him a decent haircut.

Ha sometimes people just can't handle the truth! Really enjoy this characters attitude, really funny dude :)

Thanks Matt. Beardo is single-minded and simple - - and really his only ambition is to find another drink. When you spell it out like that, it sounds dark, and sad - - but ... HEY Humour helps us cope.

Taken literally, this strip's exploration of addiction is dark and sad. For the first time, though, towards the end of this episode, I feel like they're finally going to demonstrate some growth. Perhaps their struggles and effort will all add up to something more than just getting another fix. ....

(So, so dark, OMG!)
I'm glad you like the character, though! Thanks!

One thing about Beardo has been left out -- he always wore a baseball cap. Oh, and he worse glasses too!

wore, glass, rather

I incorporate the hat when he's begging, but otherwise, you're right, he doesn't usually wear it. I don't think I've ever included his glasses ether - - plus his beard was really thick! not as scrawny as this one. many differences, for sure.

Is this set in the UK coz the weather's always $#!!y here :-)

No, not the UK, based on the City of Peterborough north-east of Toronto. Although it's just an "inspiration" for the strip. Granted, I think our Ontario townships share a lot in common with our British forefathers.
